Professional Mailbox Installation

Tailor Mail installs curbside residential mailbox systems across South Florida. Whether you are replacing an outdated mailbox, installing a new custom mailbox, correcting a leaning post, or restoring a damaged unit, we handle the physical installation so the finished mailbox is level, secure, and positioned correctly at the curb.

New Mailbox Installation

For eligible residential installations, our standard service includes standard mailbox removal (optional disposal is charged separately), preparing the new location, setting the support, mounting and leveling the mailbox, and final cleanup. Most standard installations can be completed without the homeowner needing to remain on site.

  • Standard existing mailbox removal; optional haul-away is $50 for wood, plastic or metal mailboxes, or $100 for concrete
  • Post or support installation and alignment
  • Concrete anchoring when required by the mailbox design
  • Mailbox mounting and final leveling
  • House-number placement when included with the order

Standard local installation is commonly offered as a $250 add-on with eligible Tailor Mail mailbox orders. Specialty removals, unusually heavy structures, masonry, or custom site conditions may require separate pricing.

USPS Mailbox Placement

USPS guidance generally calls for curbside mailboxes to be installed 41–45 inches above the road surface to the bottom of the mailbox or point of mail entry and 6–8 inches back from the curb or road edge. Because road and curb conditions vary, USPS recommends contacting the local Post Office before installing or replacing a mailbox. We use these placement standards when laying out a curbside installation.

Mailbox Remounting

A leaning or loose mailbox does not always require a complete replacement. Depending on the condition of the post and mailbox, we may be able to re-set, straighten, or remount the existing system.

  • Post re-setting and alignment correction
  • Mailbox height and curb-position correction
  • Loose mounting hardware repair
  • Evaluation of existing post and mailbox condition

Welding & Impact-Damage Repair

If a metal mailbox or post has been damaged by impact, corrosion, or failed hardware, replacement may not always be necessary. Tailor Mail offers welding and structural mailbox repair for suitable aluminum, steel, and metal components.

  • Post welding and structural repair
  • Mailbox body and bracket repair
  • Damaged hardware replacement
  • Typical welding repair turnaround of approximately 1–3 days, depending on the damage

General Mailbox Repairs & Restoration

We also handle selected mailbox repairs and restoration work, including loose doors or hinges, damaged numbers, refinishing, replacement components, lock-related work, and other custom modifications. Send photos of the existing mailbox when requesting a repair estimate so we can determine whether repair or replacement makes more sense.

Mailbox Installation FAQ

What does standard mailbox installation include?

For eligible residential projects, standard installation starts at $250 and generally includes standard mailbox removal (disposal is separate), setting or mounting the new support, installing and leveling the mailbox, and cleaning the work area. Specialty masonry, unusually heavy structures, or non-standard site conditions may require separate pricing.

Do I have to be home during installation?

Not necessarily. Many mailbox replacements can be completed without the homeowner present as long as the installation location, product, house number, and any special instructions have been confirmed in advance.

Can you remove my existing mailbox?

Yes. Removal of most standard residential mailboxes is included within our normal installation scope. Optional disposal is $50 for wood, plastic or metal mailboxes, or $100 for concrete. Concrete removal adds $100 to the applicable installation price. Heavy masonry, oversized structures, or unusual demolition requirements may need a separate estimate.

Can you install a locking mailbox?

Yes. We install locking and non-locking curbside mailbox systems. Browse our locking mailbox options or contact us for help choosing one.

Do you work with HOAs?

Yes. We work with individual homeowners, property managers, and associations on single replacements and multi-home mailbox projects. Visit our HOA mailbox collection for community-oriented options.
